LODA Artwalk Ride

The Mobilians on Bikes group left Cream and Sugar for the LODA artwalk on Friday evening.  Megan and I went with the kids.  My buddy Richard Walsh and  another family with kids went with us.  It was super muggy, sweating at 8mph and 85 degrees.  The evening was great though.  While Mobile does not reach out to cyclists in any significant way, the downtown is relatively calm for biking.  The picture above exemplifies what cycling can be.  Two women riding cycle chic in regular clothes to a city event.  Our friends’ daughter has a nice beach cruiser all decked out with flowers.  My wife is looking good on a Dutch Gazelle Basic with a Yepp kids seat on back.  No special cycling gear needed here!  Love it!

We had a nice time with good conversation and a relaxing evening.  The night ride back was pleasant.  While Megan and I have lights on our bikes, both the front and rear lights are static.  I picked up some extra flashing lights for our night rides.
